Welcome
Welcome to the Mr. Huynh's blog.
The purpose of this blog is to provide a centralized location for students to find resources and references from my classes. In the blog, you can find PowerPoints/Prezi used in the classroom, important tips for student success, videos and links related to our units and topics and modeled writing.
For parents, this is a place where you can see what we do in class and the topics covered so you can quiz the students over dinner. At home, students can use the blog to revisit the lessons previously taught and further explore the topics to expand their knowledge.
Student Blogs
The purpose of keeping a student blog is to provide a larger audience (students, parents and teachers) thus motivating students to improve their writing, content and work. Feedback provided from the wider audience will encourage students to put their best effort into their work and get feedback from others and not just the teacher.
When you visit the students' blogs, you will be able to see some of the work they have been doing in class. Keep in mind, some blog postings are like journal entries or reflections and may not be perfect in every way as the purpose is to have their ideas and opinions. Other postings will be more polished work with students' self/peer editing and with teacher feedback and guidance.
You are encouraged to provide constructive feedback to the student blogs and the class blog so we know how and where to improve.
Sincerely,
Mr. Huynh
A message for former 5R and 5A Students
If you continue your blogs this summer, please add a comment to the class blog so I can go and visit your blogs. I hope that you get to use your blogs extensively and develop your e-portfolio next year. If you plan to keep a personal blog, pass along your link so I can give you some feedback.
Have a great summer!
